Fjederkraften holder friktionsskiven mod rotornavet i hvile; DC-str\u00f8mmen aktiverer elektromagneten for at udl\u00f8se bremsen, n\u00e5r motoren starter. Ved str\u00f8mafbrydelse aktiveres bremsen p\u00e5 under 0,3 sekunder og holder lasten uden ekstern bremsekraft.
