Y2 Series 2-Pole Motor — 3000 rpm High-Speed Performance
The Y2-*-2 two-pole motor series achieves a synchronous speed of 3000 r/min under 50Hz power supply, making it the fastest-running standard frame motor in the three-phase induction motor range. The higher rotational speed means a given power output is delivered at lower torque, which reduces frame size and weight compared to a 4-pole or 6-pole equivalent at the same power rating.
Korea Ever-Power produces 20 standard frame sizes in the 2-pole configuration, from the compact 63M frame at 0.18 kW up to the 315L frame at 200 kW. The design follows GB/T18680-2008 for dimensional interchangeability, ensuring direct replacement compatibility with all major IEC-frame motors on the market.

Why Choose a 2-Pole Motor
A 2-pole motor operates at twice the speed of a 4-pole motor for the same supply frequency. At 50Hz, synchronous speed is 3000 rpm, and actual full-load speed typically falls between 2800 and 2982 rpm depending on frame size. This high shaft speed makes 2-pole motors the preferred choice when the driven machine operates at similar speeds, such as centrifugal pumps, axial fans, centrifugal compressors, high-speed conveyors, and direct-drive generators.
Because power equals torque times speed, a 2-pole motor producing the same output power as a 4-pole motor requires only half the torque. Lower torque demand means smaller shaft diameter, lighter rotor, reduced bearing loads, and a more compact overall package. For applications where installation space is limited, a 2-pole motor often provides the same power in a smaller IEC frame size.
The efficiency characteristic of 2-pole motors at 50Hz is generally favorable in the mid-to-large power range (above 5.5 kW), where the Y2-132S-2 through Y2-315L2-2 models achieve efficiencies from 85.7% to 94.8%. The high shaft speed also means that belt drives, chain drives, and couplings to slower-speed equipment require only a modest reduction ratio, simplifying drivetrain design.
